Greater Western New York Paranormal Society at Cazenovia Library

The Greater Western New York Paranormal Society is a Regional Paranormal Investigation team based out of Buffalo NY.  They investigate paranormal activity and broadcast the findings on their show, "Behind the Shadows."

CEO and Founder, Daniel Klaes, asked if I wished to witness a paranormal investigation at Cazenovia Library in my neighborhood of South Buffalo, New York.

I, of course, said yes.

The entire area on and surrounding Cazenovia Park to Buffum Street is well known for extremely intense spiritual and paranormal activity. On Buffum Street, off of Seneca Street, there lies the original burial ground of Sagoyewatha [Red Jacket] - a Native American Seneca Indian Chief.

Real Men Don't Use Barrels!

DIVING INTO HISTORY

Everyone is familiar the many daredevils who sought glory in their attempts to go over Niagara Falls in barrels, as Anne Taylor did in 1901, or walk a high wire across the gorge as Blondin and others did with great success in the 19th century. Now Nik Wallenda will make a brave attempt at crossing the Falls on a 'rope' to Canada on June 15(2012).

A little known fact is, that Buffalo, not to be outdone by it's Niagara neighbors, had it's own daredevils going over the largest things we had to offer, Grain Elevators!  Unfortunately, many of  the daredevils braving Buffalo's waterfront, learned too late; going over Niagara Falls would  have been a lot safer than a grain elevator.

Western New Yorkers Asking Where’s the Snow?

Western New Yorkers Asking Where’s the Snow?

Jokingly known in some circles across the country as the ‘Snow Capital of America’, Buffalo, NY is certainly looking to break its namesake this winter.

To-date our city has managed to fight off its first snowflakes until December 2nd, a feat that fell just one day short of a record that was set back in 1899.

In addition, we’ve also had only 2.8” of snow recorded so far this month which pales in comparison to last year’s total of 18.7” by December 13th.

Granted, last year we had a fluke snowstorm that shut down the Thruway, but such little snow is not the norm around our great city and certainly the 52 degree temperatures in mid-December is highly unusual as well, so what gives?

According to the National Weather Service, the majority of the disparities are the cause of an unusual Jet Stream patter
