Buffalo Sabres Alumni Hockey Game to Benefit Paradise House

 

An exhibition hockey game featuring members of the Buffalo Sabres Alumni Association will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at Holiday Twin Rinks, 3465 Broadway, Cheektowaga. The Sabres alumni will be taking on a Colvin Cleaners team made up of employees of the company and Western New York hockey players who made a charitable donation to participate. Proceeds from the game will benefit Paradise House, a transitional living program for women in Buffalo.

Admission is just $10 per person and includes an autograph session with the players. Sponsors of the event include Colvin Cleaners, The Resource Training Center and the Dreamcatchers Foundation.

The Buffalo Warriors built an 18-point halftime lead and then hung on for an exciting 106-94 victory over the Buffalo Knights Tuesday night at the Event Center at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.

The Warriors, an independent professional team playing in their inaugural season, were led by Jamell Cromartie who scored a game-high 37 points. Ivan Davis added 16 for the Warriors, while Jonathan Burgio led the Knights in scoring with 24 points.

Buffalo Warriors Post 107-68 Victory in Season Opener

The Buffalo Warriors, an independent professional basketball team, opened their season Saturday afternoon with an impressive 107-68 victory over the Niagara Falls Trojans. The game was played on the Warrior’s home court in the Event Center at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.

Leading all scorers was the Warrior’s Javon Johnson with 19. Former St. Bonaventure star Zach Moore added 17, while Ivan Davis Jr. and Michael Kay chipped in 12 and 10, respectively. Jordan Street led the Niagara Falls squad with 18.

Buffalo Warriors Set to Tip Off Basketball Season

 

The floor, scoreboard, stands and courtside seats were installed today in preparation for the Buffalo Warriors opening game taking place at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at the Event Center at the Hamburg Fairgrounds. The basketball team will play a 15-game home schedule against international competition.

Game tickets are $10 and are available at the Event Center box office. For those who can’t make it to the Event Center, all home games will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable.

Western New York’s largest Sports Card & Memorabilia Expo, featuring more than 100 sports card and memorabilia dealers and three celebrity guests, will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at the Hearthstone Manor, 333 Dick Road, Depew. 

Guests will be treated to 120 tables of dealer merchandise consisting of new and vintage cards, autographs, plaques, posters, game programs, game action videos, vintage photos, ticket stubs, pennants, yearbooks and many other sports collectibles.

Huge Street Hockey Festival to Visit Nearby London, Ontario

 

Hockey Night in Canada's Play On! 4-On-4, the world’s largest hockey festival and street hockey tournament, will visit nearby London, Ontario, from May 25-26. The event involves the closing of streets and the operation of 20 to 50 separate street rinks, with games running on each rink at all times throughout an entire weekend!

The tournaments typically feature hundreds of teams and thousands of participants and include separate divisions for both genders, all skill levels and all ages.

Buffalo Warriors Ink Deal with Time Warner to Televise Games

The Buffalo Warriors basketball team, preparing to play a 15-game home schedule against international competition, announced Wednesday that all games during the 2013 season will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable. The Warriors will open their schedule on March 27 at the Hamburg Fairgrounds Event Center.

All games will also be broadcast on WECK AM 1230 and FM 102.9 The Breeze, according to Warriors owner Edward Bednarz. Calling the Warriors games will be veteran broadcaster Jim Brinson.
