The nonprofit Dog Ears Bookstore & Café, located at 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo, will host two book-signing events with local authors on Jan. 11 and 12.

This Saturday, Dec. 21, is your last chance to visit the popular Winter Market at Horsefeathers during the 2013 holiday season! The unique indoor market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through May 3 and occupies portions of the first floor and lower level of the Horsefeathers Market & Residences, located at 346 Connecticut St. on Buffalo’s West Side. Come in and stock up for the holidays!

Please note that the Winter Market will not be in operation on Saturday, Dec. 28 or Jan. 4, as those dates will be required for building improvements. The Winter Market will resume again on Saturday, Jan. 11. The building’s permanent vendors will be open for business on the dates the Winter Market is not in session.

Press Raw Food & Juice, a specialty store for individuals interested in raw vegan and healthy food choices, will be the latest business to join the Grant Street revitalization when it opens for business on Thursday, Dec. 19. The food retailer and take-out shop is located at 197 Grant St. on Buffalo’s West Side.

“Press specializes in organic cold-pressed juices and raw organic foods,” said owner and executive chef Esther Pica. “We are, I think, the first in Buffalo to offer an entirely raw, vegan, organic and gluten-free menu. We’re sure that the demand is here.”
