Peace Bridge to Honor Blessed Mother Teresa

A well-known international landmark will be aglow on the evening of August 26 in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Blessed Mother Teresa.

The Peace Bridge, which spans the Niagara River between Buffalo and Fort Erie, will be illuminated in blue and white, the colors of Blessed Mother Teresa’s order of women religious, the Missionaries of Charity.

Blessed Mother Teresa traveled the world, helping the poorest of the poor. During her lifetime, she brought her message of love and compassion for the destitute to Ontario and Western New York. The sisters of her order continue to minister where there is the most need. They are in Canada, the United States, and around the world, working in homes for the dying, in orphanages, and in hospitals.

The Vatican is currently considering Blessed Mother Teresa for sainthood.
