"Say Yes Buffalo" Scholarship Kick-Off | News
BUFFALO, NY-- Free... college... tuition! It's a reality for the first time this year for Buffalo public and charter school graduates.
Parents and kids got to learn more about the program and how to apply at a community meeting.
The program is called "Say Yes, Buffalo" and tonight was the first of four meetings this month where the application process and eligibility were explained.
Along with offering free college tuition, there are also free support services kids and parents can take advantage of to help every student be successful in the classroom.
"At first people think it's too good to be true-- but its not," said 'Say Yes Buffalo' Executive Director David Rust.
"The opportunity and the dream and the hope that all kids and all their children can go to college-- its hard to wrap your mind around at first. It's not too good to be true. There's an opportunity for all graduates. It's not limited to a certain number of students per year," Rust added.
The deadline for applying to "Say Yes, Buffalo" this year is April first.
There are three more community meeting scheduled this month: February 11, 19 and 23rd.
The time and location of the community meetings as well as more information and applications are on the Say Yes, Buffalo website.
