24 Arrested in Cocaine Bust | News
BUFFALO, NY - 24 people have been arrested on narcotics trafficking charges after an investigation known as "Operation Babcock."
Babcock is the nickname of a neighborhood in South Buffalo where much of the investigation took place, but Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office says the drug distribution network included Erie, Allegany, Cattaraugus and Genesee Counties.
As part of the investigation, several kilograms of cocaine and about $58,500 in cash were seized.
Investigators accuse Richard Himbury of Tonawanda as one of the major suppliers in the Buffalo area.
Laurie Kozakowski is accused of bringing large amounts of cocaine from suppliers in South Buffalo to Batavia where she re-sold the drugs.
She's been a toll collector with the New York State Thruway Authority for the past 10 years.
