One Pitch, Dozens of Baskets & So Much Fun

One Pitch, Dozens of Baskets & So Much Fun

Did the title get your attention?  That's because the 4th Annual Crusade Against Impaired Driving Softball Tournament and Fundraiser is a very unique event!

It's a one-pitch coed softball tournament that is taking place once again at Sunshine Park on Saturday, August 13 from 9am-4pm.  A one pitch tournament means all the batters have one pitch to swing at.  If they don't hit the ball, they're out.  Not only is it challenging, but it's lots of fun.  The games are only about an hour long, and we have many teams that return year after year because it's such a fun event.

The Sweet Smell of the Katsura Tree

The Sweet Smell of the Katsura Tree

BUFFALO - July 27, 2011- Yesterday, my colleague and I were canvassing Buffalo in search of local history.  While ambling through the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park, I recognized a very familiar sugary scent.

“Do you smell that?” I asked.

“I do!” she exclaimed, “It smells like cotton candy!  Where is it?”
