Dr. Gage (now age 88), collaborated with another University at Buffalo surgeon, William Chardack, MD, as well as Wilson Greatbatch, who was a former associate professor of electrical engineering at UB.  Greatbatch then further developed the pacemaker battery, founding what today is internationally known as Greatbatch Inc.

Dr. Gage was given a plaque from Kaleida Health to commemorate his contributions as well as a proclamation from Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown designating it “Dr. Andrew Gage Day” in Buffalo.
