Free Community Document Shredding Event

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon has partnered with Document Destruction of WNY to host a free Community Shredding Event to securely destroy paper documents. Residents with unwanted documents can bring them to the event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Hamburg High School, 4111 Legion Drive.

“I think most of us are guilty of allowing unneeded paperwork to pile up in our homes. More than clutter nuisance, keeping these unneeded documents can create a security risk. If certain documents were to fall into the wrong hands it could result in identity theft and financial loss. Safely and appropriately destroying of these documents helps protect residents from such dangers,” said Legislator Dixon. “Anyone with unneeded documents is invited to attend this shredding event and safely dispose of forms, documents, receipts or any other files they no longer need.”

“Document Destruction of WNY is thrilled to be working with Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon and the Hamburg PTSA to bring identity theft awareness to the Hamburg community,” said Bob Velazquez, owner of Document Destruction of WNY.

This event is being offered free of charge and participation is voluntary. Residents are strongly encouraged to fully review the materials they wish to shred before handing them over for destruction.
