The Annual Tour of Solar Homes and Green Buildings is the world's largest grassroots event of its kind. More than 160,000 participants will visit some 5,500 buildings in 3,200 communities across the U.S. for the The Solar and Green Building Open House Tour. The Western New York Tour is expected to attract over 1,500 people for what will be our largest tour yet.

The free, self-guided tour features over 40 innovative green buildings and homes across Western New York. This is your opportunity to see and learn about geothermal, solar, energy efficiency, historic energy efficient buildings and straw bale!

The tour kick off awards ceremony will be on October 1, 2011 from 10am - 11am at The Innovation Center, 640 Ellicott Street Buffalo, NY. Join us in recognizing green buildings, prizes, refreshments and a learn more about what the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus is doing to create a more sustainable future for Western New York.

There will be four 30 minute  workshops during the day. All workshops are free and will be held at The Innovation Center 640 Ellicott Street Buffalo, NY.
