South Buffalo Reunion to Honor Jerry & Bonnie Sullivan | Community Spirit
A South Buffalo Reunion will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012, from 1-7p.m. at the Buffalo Irish Center and will honor Bonnie and Jerry Sullivan for their commitment and service to the South Buffalo community. The event is open to the public and includes live music by the South Buffalo All Stars featuring Joe Head, Jim Brucato, Billy McEwen and Pete Holquin. The StoneBridge Band will also be performing.
Bonnie and Jerry Sullivan are lifelong South Buffalo residents and opened Doc Sullivan’s in 1999. “Doc’s” has become a staple on Abbott Road and the restaurant/bar is more than just a place for great chicken wings, it’s where the South Buffalo community often congregates.
According to bar manager Kevin Wiles, over the past 12 years, Bonnie and Jerry have opened their doors for countless fundraisers and charity events. “Whether it be for Bishop Timon, Mount Mercy Academy or a family in need, you can bet they’ll be on board,” Wiles said. “They don’t ask for anything in return or a pat on the back. They’re just hard working people, and giving back to the South Buffalo community is the creed by which their family lives and how they operate their business.”
The cost of the event is $20 and includes draft beer, wine and soda. Lunch will be served from 2-4p.m. and a cash bar will also be available. All proceeds will benefit the Bishop Timon Saint Jude Music Department.
