West Seneca East High School Holding Community Blood Drive

The West Seneca East Senior High Student Council works alongside the Red Cross to help collect blood donations through various blood drives throughout the year.  The final blood drive will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at East Senior’s Auditorium, 4760 Seneca St., West Seneca.  Any staff members able to donate are encouraged to do so. This blood drive is open to the community.

The students are working to gain enough total units of blood donated to receive a Red Cross scholarship that will be given to a deserving senior this year.  They are about 50 units away from that goal.  People are encouraged to give blood not only for the sake of the scholarship, but to also help up to three lives that could be impacted from their donation.

Donors will receive pizza, snacks and the chance to win several prizes, including a Best Buy gift card and Buffalo Bisons tickets.

West Seneca East High School was honored by the American Red Cross in September 2011 as one of the top blood drive sponsors in the New York-Penn Blood Services Region in 2011.

The school was presented with a Blood Drive Sponsor Award in appreciation of its outstanding support and commitment to promote the mission of the American Red Cross through organizing successful blood drives.

East Senior High School was one of five organizations to receive this honor in the New York-Penn Region, which comprises 63 counties of Upstate New York and Pennsylvania.

East’s Student Council runs two blood drives at the school each year. In the last five years, approximately 900 donations have been collected at the school.
