South Buffalo Set to Welcome Brick Oven Bistro & Deli | Business
Brick Oven Bistro & Deli, offering a unique mix of artisan brick oven pizzas, delicious entrees served in new and exciting ways, gourmet deli sandwiches and much more, is set to open at 3 p.m. Monday, February 13. South Buffalo’s newest restaurant is located at 910 Abbott Road and breathes new life into a former neighborhood market that stood vacant for several years.
The behind-the-scenes team that has been busy creating this new eatery includes South Buffalo natives Charlie Goodspeed and John Glavey, with Goodspeed bringing more than 30 years of restaurant experience to the table. Overseeing the kitchen is Boston, N.Y., native Andrew Murtha. Chef Murtha built his fine dining resumé in both Buffalo and Philadelphia.
The front portion of the building will host the deli (opening soon), which will feature handcrafted sandwiches, meats, salads, handmade pastries, coffee and more. Overall, the bistro and restaurant has room to accommodate up to 90 guests at any given time in a casual atmosphere perfect for everything from business meetings to lunch or dinner with the family.
While the 12-inch brick oven pizzas are certain to please, the menu also features a variety of hearty dishes and a tremendous selection of starters that are great for sharing. Gluten-free pizzas are also available. The restaurant will offer beer and wine food pairings and promises an incredible lineup of 18 craft beers on tap.
“We’re taking foods that people like and delivering them in a much more interesting way,” said Chef Murtha. “Everything on the menu is made from scratch and affordable. We’re also dealing with local meat and produce providers. Even many of the craft beers are local!”
Brick Oven Bistro & Deli offers booth and table seating, convenient neighborhood parking, a family friendly environment and is handicap accessible. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
