Book Signing and Other Events Planned at Dog Ears Bookstore | Arts & Culture
A book signing for the definitive guide on thriving on less than two incomes will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Dog Ears Bookstore, 688 Abbott Road, South Buffalo. Author and business performance consultant Cathi Brese Doebler will sign her book, Ditch the Joneses, Discover Your Family: How to thrive on less than two incomes!
Doebler has been quoted in numerous media outlets, including USA Today, Woman’s Day, ABC News, FoxBusiness.com, CNBC, NASDAQ.com, MSN Money and more, and was recently interviewed by AM Buffalo and The Buffalo News. Her message is catching on fast, and with good reason: She’s living the life many only dream of, and she offers help to those who want to take charge of their life and family.
Ditch the Joneses, Discover Your Family provides practical know-how for families searching for balance in how they spend their time and money. Pulling together 15 years of business coaching and training experience, and a decade of parenting, the author shares information that is realistic, focusing on useful tools and ideas for families.
Also on May 12, Dog Ears will host a party to celebrate the Theatre of Youth (TOY)production of “Charlotte’s Web,” on stage from May 11 through June 3 at the Allendale Theatre, 203 Allen St., Buffalo. The celebration at Dog Ears, beginning at 11 a.m. May 12, will offer readings from the book, fun crafts and a snack. The event is designed for children ages 4 to 12.
Dog Ears will also begin a new series of “Puppy Tales” story time sessions this Friday, April 27. Open to children ages 2 to 4, Puppy Tales runs from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Fridays for six weeks. Each session includes stories, a craft and snacks. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is a registration fee of $15, and room for 20 children in the program.
And finally, Dog Ears Bookstore will hold its 4th annual fundraising gala from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Buffalo Irish Center, 245 Abbott Road, Buffalo. The event will feature a “Taste of the Southtowns,” showcasing samples from 20-plus local restaurants. Providing musical entertainment will be “A Band Named Sue,” a well-known Johnny Cash cover band. A silent auction will also be featured.
Tickets to the gala are $50 per person and paid admission includes beer, wine, food and entertainment. Proceeds raised at the event will fund reading and writing projects at the nonprofit bookstore.
