Urban Epiphany: WNY's Largest Poetry Gathering | Arts & Culture
Urban Epiphany is Western New York’s largest poetry marathon. In its 6th year, Urban Epiphany has managed to gather people from all areas of the region, as well as the City of Buffalo, to celebrate the diversity of art, culture, poetry and performance, peacefully, in the name of the written and spoken word.
Sunday, April 22, at 3pm, The Unitarian Universalist [695 Elmwood Avenue at West Ferry] will host readers and performers for 2 minutes each between the hours of 3-8pm. The suggested donation is $5, to cover the rental of the hall, posters, and printing, yet not required to attend.
UE is 100% volunteer driven, coordinated and initiated by Celia White, Western New York’s premier writer, educator and poet. Urban Epiphany is a relaxed atmosphere where one can stay the entire day or for five minutes. Think Twice Radio will record the entire event on audio. To access prior years, GO HERE

The importance of Urban Epiphany was stated clearly by Christina Wos Donnelly as she spoke being grateful for the right to speak by stating: “There are still places in this world where being a poet can get you killed.”
This event is a milestone, a solitary day during National Poetry Month that welcomes all people, and endless forms of expression.
The 2012 Roster includes the finest writers, poets and performers not only from Buffalo, New York, but of the world.
