West Seneca East and West high schools recognized their seniors with the highest cumulative grade point averages (GPA) when they released class of 2011 ranks Thursday.

At East Senior, Alyssa Kearly has earned the top spot as valedictorian, with a GPA of 98.977 percent. At West Senior, Victoria Clancy will be the Class of 2011 valedictorian, with a GPA of 99.431.

Salutatorians will be Christina Dressler with a 98.859, from East, and Chelsea Needham, with a 99.221, from West.

The rest of East’s top 10 are as follows: Ashleigh Maciejewski, 98.402; Cory Young, 98.209; Vishal Chaurasia, 98.115; Erika Barrett, 97.902; Nicole Theal, 97.835; Nicole Murray, 97.598; John Fischer, 97.441; and Kayla Noworyta, 96.914.

East ranks are out of a graduating class of 231.

West’s top 10 comprise all females this year. Among the girls, two had the same GPA, tying for the seventh highest grades in the class.

 Earning West’s third through 10th spots are: Mary Janak, 99.183; Erika Mellick, 98.664; Alyse Stevenson, 98.569; Jordan Snajczuk, 98.169; Emma Janicki, 98.128; Stephanie Lanza, 98.128; Danielle Williams, 97.658; and Maeghan Roberts, 97.491.

West ranks are out of a graduating class of 312.

All GPAs noted here have been weighted to reflect the students’ participation in Advanced Placement courses.

The top 10 students from both high schools will be recognized at a future Board of Education meeting .
