First Annual Winter Carnival at the Historical Society: Indoor and Outdoor Activities for ALL AGES!

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society's all-age, indoor/outdoor Winter Carnival will take place Sunday, January 23, 2011, from 1 to 4 p.m. This event is made possible with generous support from the Northwest Buffalo Community Center.

Special guest Sabretooth, the Buffalo Sabres' beloved mascot, will be here to greet visitors and pose for photos.

Outdoor activities include snowshoeing with Tifft Nature Preserve instructors, Iroquois Snowsnake game demonstrations, sledding, and snowman building.

Indoor activities will include face painting, arts & crafts, mini-museum tours and artifact scavenger hunts. In addition, everyone can enjoy live music from Vitamin D, a young local band that plays family-friendly reggae, funk and soul music. Indulge in delicious, locally made baked goods from Chrusciki Bakery, and free hot chocolate! Also the Museum’s model trains will be running all afternoon.

As always, the Historical Society strives to keep fees affordable: the all-inclusive admission is $5/Historical Society members and $10/non-members. All ages welcome, and adults are FREE with paid child.
